I have owned several mid to high end speaker systems through the decades.
JBL Decade 36’s JBL L112 Bose 502’s Bose 901’s KEF’s etc. The Aria’s are by far the best pair of speakers by far so far. The upper end clarity, The low end clarity the stage is all there ! If it’s in the source material it’s there and in spades. if the source is recorded badly you can sure tell…. Thank You Focal for creating such a wonderful immersive live you are there stage…. Keep up the great work for all who enjoy audiofile worthy music.

The Sound is what I was looking for and the build quality is superb. But I have noticed that the bass driver is quiet. The tweeter on the left one is also quiet.

These Aria 948 speakers are outstanding.
There’s not many YouTube reviews of any variety on the Aria 948’s and I don’t understand why. These are exceptional speakers. I’ve got them paired with a Rega Elex-R, Rega P3 + SoundSmith Otello, Audiolab CDT6000 and Loxjie DAC. Iam using Chord ShawlineX speaker cable with a mix of QED, Chord and Mogami interconnects.
First off, THESE SPEAKERS ARE HUGE! Your partners acceptance factor could well be tested with these speakers, but put on some music and be rewarded with a WOW moment for both of you. After running in for a few weeks, these speakers just don’t disappoint. Music fills the room, bass is full and rich, but not boomy. Midrange amazing, top end is crisp but not tiring. I could listen for hours, low or high volumes, nether are a problem.
The only question I have is, if these are relatively entry level in the Focal line, what the heck do the higher end sound like? Bravo Focal, get these babies out to some YouTubers, this is a speaker that you need to hear to believe!
Quite simply, the Aria 948 speakers brings enjoyment and fun to music.
Was amazed at how well they sound at low volume levels and they exceed any expectations even with a 40 Watt EL34 tube amplifier. Have tried three different solid state amplifiers and the 948s make them all sound fantastic. In short, they are not hard to drive. They sound even better after about 20 hours of play.
At distances of 3-4 meters, you feel the bass and midrange in way that tells you what you have been missing until FOCAL. The front and bottom bass port is outstanding engineering and design and works in conjunction with the contoured upper surface of the plinth.

I have waited my whole life to have a good sound system. I started with researching speakers. I always liked Klipsch and bought a pair of Forte III’s. I only kept them for 3 weeks and gave up on making myself try to like them. They were severely lacking midrange to me when paired with my NAD C388. The highs were crystal clear and beautiful though. I went back out to shop and listen. I described my issue at a high end retailer and the salesperson had me listen to the 948’s. They were way out of my price range but wow were they perfect. BIG, round, concert hall sound. All aspects of the sound was perfect to me. I listened to other speakers and was disappointed and went home empty handed. After some time I had to have them and took the plunge. I have no regrets. I listen to rock mostly and country, jazz, pop, and some classical.
Still running in but loving every musical note emanating from these awesome speakers.

Li ho ascoltati a lungo in negozio prima di acquistarli, confrontati anche con box di prezzo doppio in commutazione rapida. Magari mi piace il suono aperto sulle voci ma devo dire che sono rimasto meravigliato dalla limpidezza e neutralità espresse. Da Joni Mitchell a Kate Purcell e poi Roberta Gambarini, da Steve Strauss a Chris Jones è stato un piacere: tutto il mio cd test ha suonato a meraviglia. Nessuna esaltazione in alto e un basso presente e ben smorzato.
La porta di accordo inferiore aggiunge profondità senza code sonore. Questi altoparlanti scendono parecchio e ho ne ho avuto la prova con Mezzanine dei Massive Attack: tenuta strepitosa e punch da far tremare divano e stanza. Bellissimo anche il tappeto di bassi di Tubolar Bells. Un diffusore veramente eccellente, senza riserve.

Clear and uninhibited listening for our home theater. No harshness from the highs, and absolutely superb—if not a bit reserved—bass. A glorious floorstander, worthy of praise.

Love my Aria 948 speakers, not broken in yet. Right out of the box it put a smile on my face. Got about 4 hours playtime on them. Looking foward to the next 96 to properly break them in. Have them in my living room and against a wall (not by choice) and they still sound awesome.

I can’t imagine how these speakers could be improved upon.
Currently running it with 140wrms, has good accuracy and reveling needs good source.
I replaced a pair of Bose 901 speakers because of the equalizer required for them to work. It just seemed to muddy up the sound. Wanted to try something different. Kat at Upscale Audio had a set of 926s and recommended Focal.
Being a fan of US speakers I was reluctant to purchase the 948s but gave them a try. Am I glad I did. The midrange is phenomenal. The bass is perfect and I don’t think I need a subwoofer. Tweeter is clear and beautiful.
Nothing is muddy or muffled. Clear, sweet sound. Thank you Focal. I can’t imagine what your higher end speakers sound like but I am really happy with the 948.
I am now listening to things in my music never heard before. Just amazing!

The 948’s wield absolute authority in the lower registers while maintaining their composure during the most demanding passages. For me, the tweeters reach the perfect balance between definition and articulation without ever breaching the the threshold of comfort. This speaker is tied together perfectly with a truly superb mid range driver that continues to blow me away with everything I throw at it.

I had Dynaudio Excite X44. I found the mid range especially very thin and muted. Also the bass was surprisingly light on a speaker supposedly having excellent bass. I auditioned the Aria 948 and these speakers are superior in every way — mid range and voices are substantially better than the X44 and the bass is vastly superior. The Aria 948 is in a different league despite being similarly priced — it sounds as if it should be double the price of the Dynaudios. Extremely happy with this purchase!
They sound great…
So far so good. Excellent performance with detailed sound intense bass on low volumes. Received 2 back to back defective units. First one had drivers fallout (damaged in shipment). Then replacement unit had defective drivers — producing low muffled sound.
Third one was fine.
These are exellant speakers with incedibly soft and natural sound, very good performance at low and high volumes. There is no need for subwoofer as the bass is incredibly tight clear and controlled. The design is very nice classic and modern and the quality of construction is in high standard.
I listen for hours and don’t get tired at all.

Great looking and great sounding speakers.
In fact they don’t have a sound themselves. The most musical, neutral and transparent speakers I have ever owned. Paired with a couple of Audio-gd C1 Master mono-block amplifiers.
These are amazing speakers. I am truly in love!
Very enjoyable, non-fatiguing sound. Vocals and orchestral pieces are a strong suit. With the right electronics the piano is as realistic as any speaker this 70 y/o has ever heard. Imaging and bass are very nice in a speaker of this price range.

Sound, feelings: Air, details and natural sound.
Build quality: solid! The vinyl on the outside looks really good, but real wood is wood. I have the speakers installed in a room with 50 sqrm, and a volume of 75 kbm. For the first time I have speakers that fills the room whith good natural sound, «without stress», especially in low and medium sound levels. When watching film with surround sound, in high sound levels, I don’t miss anything. Perhaps a bigger amplifier.

I’ve had the Aria 948s as my L/R speakers in a Dolby Atmos media room. They are GREAT for both music and movies. I’ve primarily used smaller speakers with subwoofers to fill in the lower end and while that works great for movies it’s not as great for music.
I’m still working through my music collection but I just love the low, tight bass that comes out of these.

I’m very satisfied with the purchase of the FOCAL ARIA 948.
The sound is very good with deep short bass and smooth but detailed Mid and High.
For me there sound is so wath between JBL and B&W and they have a great efficiency. This means the amplifier is a sleep while the sound is suffucient.
My ampifier is a brand new DENON PMA 1600 wich fits perfectly.
I used to play with Advanced acoustic on a pair of JBL XPL 200 and i dare to say that the sound of the ARIA 948 is better, altough for me becouse the sound is smoother. Great for every kind of music expecially for Jazzy peaces they are sublime.
Beautifully clear, deep and rich sounds regardless of what music I’ve been putting through them. Just amazing speakers.

I am very impressed with the build quality. Yes, they are big, but still look great.
As for the sound quality, I am blown away for the price of these speakers. You cannot go wrong. You just need three things:
Enough space for setup
A good amplifier
A little patience with positioning (for me 5 min as I read the manual)
One minor thing, your bad quality sound sources now will be revealed.
Other than that 10/10 for me, well, well done Focal.

Just beginning to unravel all these speakers have to offer, but the resolution of the tweeter, the accuracy of the midrange and the tight but powerful bass are just abundant.
Luego de buscar dentro de este universo que es el Hi-Fi, termine por decidirme primeramente por la marca, luego de haber escuchado varias marcas inglesas, y luego de debatirme entre las Chorus 726 (por una cuestión de presupuesto), hice el esfuerzo y pegue el salto al Aria 948.
Debo decir que no me arrepiento en lo mas mínimo, aunque con las Chorus hubiese estado genial también. La verdad estas columnas son sorprendentes en todo sentido, la calidad y los materiales de construcción son excelentes, su diseño es muy discreto y moderno (habrá a quien les guste o no, eso es muy personal). Comparé B&W, Monitor Audio, KEF, Dali y Focal, dentro de las gamas bajas y medio altas, y verdaderamente, me gustaron las Focal por sobre todas en todas las demás. Su sonido cristalino bien definido, unos medios precisos y en particular las 948 una profundidad de bajos excelente, que para el ambiente donde yo las he destinado me sobra por demás. Hablar de potencia verdaderamente para mi no tiene sentido ya que los parlantes los disfruto de otra manera. Son excelentes columnas tanto para audio como para cine, pero por sobre todo destaco escuchar música acústica y jazz, el sonido que despliegan con este tipo de música es verdaderamente maravilloso, te eriza la piel. No soy un audiófilo ni mucho menos, pero se darme cuenta cuando algo que escucho me gusta, y estas columnas me encantan!! Arme un sistema estéreo con un AV Receiver Onkyo Tx-8050 y va muy bien (se que lo voy a tener que cambiar a mediano plazo, pero la inversion inicial fue en las columnas).
Verdaderamente estoy por demás satisfecho con mi introducción al mundo del HI-FI. Las super recomiendo. No se van a arrepentir.

The finish of the leather/vinil around one of the twiters is poor.I expected better connectors.For the rest it is a nice spekeaker.

(2) Никакому лицу не разрешается эксплуатировать или перемещать по автомагистралям любые автомобили, прицепы или полуприцепы с металлическими шинами, соприкасающимися с автомагистралью.

(6) При условии соблюдения условий, изложенных в подразделе (5) настоящего раздела, требование к цепи должно быть выполнено путем присоединения как минимум одной (1) шины с каждой стороны:
(a) Одной (1) ведущий мост, независимо от количества ведущих мостов; и
(b) Одна (1) ось в задней части или рядом с задней частью каждого буксируемого транспортного средства. Такая ось не должна включать подвеску с переменной нагрузкой или ось тележки-преобразователя.
(7) Цепи, как требуется в подразделе (6)(a) и (b) этого раздела, означают «цепи» согласно определению в разделе 49-104 Кодекса штата Айдахо. Может использоваться любое другое тяговое устройство, отличающееся от цепей конструкцией, материалом или конструкцией, но способное обеспечить тягу, равную или превышающую тягу цепей в аналогичных условиях.

2. Сдано в аренду или по контракту такой школой, и автомобиль не используется в интересах какого-либо другого коммерческого предприятия;
(ii) Автомобили, контролируемые и эксплуатируемые любым фермером, когда они используются для перевозки сельскохозяйственного оборудования фермера или для перевозки припасов на ферму фермера;
(iii) Перевозка сельскохозяйственной продукции в любое время года;
(iv) Автомобили, предназначенные исключительно для перевозки почты Соединенных Штатов или имущества, принадлежащего Соединенным Штатам;
(v) Автомобили, перевозящие продукцию леса в любое время года, в том числе щеповозы;
(vi) Автомобили, перевозящие продукцию шахты, включая песок, гравий и их заполнители, кроме нефтепродуктов; и
(vii) Транспортные средства, надлежащим образом оборудованные, спроектированные и обычно используемые для перевозки инвалидов или брошенных транспортных средств с помощью крана, подъемника, тягово-сцепного устройства, тележки или тележки на колесиках, широко известные как «автомобиль-эвакуатор» или «эвакуатор».
